Kathmandu: C.P. Gajurel, acting General Secretary of the Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal led by Mohan Baidya, has claimed that the People’s Republic has not yet been established in the country.
Speaking at a program organized by the party’s youth wing, Revolutionary Youth League, in Lalitpur on Thursday, Gajurel described the current republican system as a bourgeois republic, asserting that it serves only the interests of the capitalist, comprador, and bureaucratic classes. “This bourgeois republic cannot lead the country towards development,” he said.
Gajurel stated that they fought for the establishment of a People’s Republic, but due to the betrayal by Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, that goal remains unfulfilled. He alleged, “Prachanda and Baburam are still following the agenda of the Nepali Congress. The People’s Republic has not been achieved. This was not the goal of our struggle.”
According to him, the current system has failed to work in the interest of the people. “We did not fight for a bourgeois republic,” he said, “This system cannot bring development and transformation in favor of the people.”
Gajurel emphasized the need to strengthen the revolutionary line to establish a true People’s Republic by replacing the current system.
